This holiday season, Metropolitan Home Health Services, Inc. supported several Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs) that directly benefited seniors in the Greater Boston area. Metropolitan Home Health Services, Inc. contributed in part with Minuteman Senior Services, Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services and Mystic Valley Elder Services.
Thanks again for Metropolitan Home Health Services recent gift for our Elder Independence Fund!!! The following is a description of the fund and how Metropolitan Home Health Services donation helped elders remain safe at home this holiday season.
Metropolitan Home Health Services generously supported Mystic Valley Elder Services, Elder Independence Fund this holiday season. There are occasions when an elder’s ability to maintain independence is jeopardized when an urgent need arises that isn’t covered by their basic care plan, can’t be funded by government resources, and can’t be privately paid for on a limited budget. That’s when Mystic Valley Elder Services Elder Independence Fund can help.
Thanks to Metropolitan Home Health Services, elders like Mary a 75 year old widow living in senior housing received a grocery gift card this holiday season. Her small fixed income was taxed by medication co-pays and without this gift she would not have food for her holiday meal. Along with Mary several more elders received help to purchase groceries.
In addition to food needs the Elder Independence Fund provided resources for elders who needed warm clothing,; like Philip and 85 year old widower who had lost a lot of weight due to illness, he received a warm coat in the correct size; Janet a 92 year old widow who was out of oil and options received 100 gallons of heating oil to keep her home cozy. These are just a few examples of elders who were assisted by the Mystic Valley Elder Services Elder Independence Fund and donors such as Metropolitan Home Health Services.
The Elder Independence Fund is 100% funded by donors like Metropolitan Home Health Services.
